Encore Law Group: Celebrating 15 Years

And a new home online

Ara Babaian
Founding Partner

Encore Law Group turns 15 this year. The firm opened in Beverly Hills in 2011, spent several years downtown, and has been in Glendale for nearly three. What hasn't moved is the work: helping founders, owners, and executives close the transactions that decide where their businesses go next.

To mark the anniversary, we've rebuilt encorelaw.com from the ground up. The new site is narrower on purpose. It reflects a firm that has concentrated its practice around transactional work rather than casting a wide net, and it makes plain what we do and who we do it for.

WHAT'S THERE

Three things worth a look

Eight practice areas, clearly drawn

Mergers and acquisitions, private placements and venture capital, real estate and syndications, entity formation and governance, executive compensation, outside general counsel, pre-litigation dispute resolution, and trademark and IP. Each with its own page explaining what the work actually involves.

Ask Ara

A new column answering the questions clients actually ask, in plain English. When a SAFE beats a convertible note. How much equity a new advisor should really get. Whether two co-founders need an operating agreement. Roughly monthly, and worth your five minutes.

Fifteen years of writing, in one place

Articles going back to 2009 on preparing a business for sale, works made for hire in California, website accessibility, and the legal housekeeping that protects a company between deals. Updated where the law has moved.

THE PAST YEAR
